The Cabot Theatre is a North Shore treasure, a legacy of the visionary showmanship and architectural passion of the Ware Brothers. The theatre opened on December 8, 1920 as a dream palace for vaudeville and silent movies and it was hailed as “the most impressive auditorium of its size east of New York.” Known then as The Ware Theater, it shared a distinguished architectural pedigree, designed by the architects of Boston’s Athenaeum and Olympia Theater and Dorchester’s Strand Theater.
For 60+ years, the Music Circus and its sister venue, the Melody Tent, have been presenting world-class entertainment in the scenic MA coastal communities of Cohasset and Hyannis. The only two continuously-operated tent theatres in the United States, the Music Circus and Melody Tent are owned and operated by the South Shore Playhouse Associates, a not-for-profit dedicated to supporting the arts and educational organizations throughout the communities of the South Shore and Cape Cod.
The Norwood Theatre is a newly renovated performing arts center in Norwood, MA. The theatre seats 731 audience members – 449 in the auditorium and 282 in the balcony. Featuring state-of-the-art sound and lighting consoles as well as a retractable 31’x15’ movie screen, the facility is equipped to host a wide variety of performing artists.
The Dedham Community Theatre is an independent cinema founded in 1927. This cultural gem is an essential part of the downtown scene, located in the heart of historic Dedham Square.
